چکیده مقاله:

Titanium and its alloys are often used in orthopedic surgery and dentistry due to their excellentcorrosion resistance, high mechanical strength and low density. However, their inertness and low biocompatibility arethe most serious drawbacks for biomedical applications. In order to improve their biocompatibility, hydroxyapatite (HA)is coated on their surface. In the present study, HA coatings were fabricated on Ti‐6Al‐4V by laser cladding with a 150WCW CO2 laser. During laser cladding, the scan speed varied from 1 mm∙s−1 to 4 mm∙s−1. Titanium plates of100×10×0.02 mm were used as a substrate. Prior to HA coating, the substrates were ultrasonically cleaned in acetoneand ethanol for 5 minutes and then dried with compressed air at room temperature. An X‐ray diffractogram indicatedthat the film deposited on the titanium substrate was composed of HA. Also XRD results is shown that increasing thelaser power leads to a decrease of HA particle size, as well as increasing the adherence of coating to substrate.
