چکیده مقاله:
The goal of this study is the investigation of effect of nanoparticle in different Polyethersulfone (PES) membranepreparation conditions on the performance of oil-water separation process. Membranes were formed via nonsolventinduced phase separation (NIPS) method and also via a combination of vapour induced phase separation (VIPS) andnonsolvent induced phase separation (NIPS) method with different concentration of SiO2 nanoparticles. In this study, oilwaterseparation process has been accomplished using fabricated membranes. The result showed that increasing ofnanoparticle has significant effect on the performance of two mentioned methods, but in high concentration case of thecombined preparation method it was vice versa. Also the hydrophilicity of the fabricated membrane has beencharacterized by contact angle measurement and results showed that the presence of hydrophilic functional group innanoparticles decreased the contact angle up to 1.2% for combined method and up to 1.4% for NIPS technique. Theamount of rejection has also been indicated to be more than 98% for all fabricated membranes.
