چکیده مقاله:

In this research work, Zinc sulfide nanoparticles (NPs) were synthesized using two methods in presence ofultrasonic irradiation with hydrothermal method (simple chemical precipitation and biological method). Result ofsynthesis of NPs prepared from Thiourea and Zinc acetate dehydrate in first method are compared with the method ofusing Sodium sulfide and Zinc nitrateand and Glucose both as capping agent and stabilizer in second method. Theaverage crystallite sizes of the samples were calculated from the full width at half maximum of XRD peaks by usingDebye-Scherrer's formula and were found to be in the nanorange. The average synthesized ZnS NPs for the first methodis 12.62 and for the second is 18.7 nm in size. The optical band gaps of various ZnS powders were calculated from UVvisiblespectroscopic studies.The UV studies illustrate average size for the first method is 10.5 and for the second is 9.3nm and indicate the enhancement of band gap energy in compared with bulk ZnS from 3.6 ev to 4.13 for the first and 4.2for second method. Chemical composition of the NPs have been investigated by Fourier Transform Infra RedSpectroscopy (FTIR).
