Performance Evaluation of Universities as Groups of Decision Making Units

Universities have different offices such as educational,research, student, administrative, and financial offices. This paperconsiders universities as groups of decision making units (DMUs) inwhich DMUs are their offices. This approach gives us with a morejust evaluation of universities instead of separate evaluation of theoffices of universities. The proposed approach to evaluate groupperformance of universities is based on common set of weightsmethod in DEA. The suggested method not only can compare groupsand measure their efficiencies, but also can calculate the efficiency ofunits within group and efficiency spread of groups. At last, thesuggested method is applied for the analysis of the performance ofuniversities in ١٤th district of Islamic Azad University as groupsunder evaluation.
