چکیده مقاله:

Biodiesel is called to a nonpetroleum diesel fuel which contains short linked Alkyl (Methyl or Ethyl) Sters and usually is produced by Trans Esterification of the vegetable oil or animal fats and can be used in isolation or mixed to the common petro diesels in unmodified diesel engines. Biodiesel is biodegradable and nontoxic and also substitute for fossil fuels. On the other hand, it shows a considerably reduction in output gases comparing to petro diesels. The biodiesel consumption is easy and it can be mixed to the diesel fuel at any portion. This kind of fuel can be used in the internal (diesel) combustion engines, without any necessity to modification. Biodiesel is usually distributed in retail markets as compound to traditional petroleum productions. In most parts of the world, to determinate the amount of biodiesel in fuel mixture, B factor is used. In this review article, we study the primary sources, characteristics, production methods and standards of biodiesel in Iran.
