One-pot synthesis of polyhydroquinoline derivatives in the presence of disodium pyrophosphate

Polyhydroquinoline derivatives have been synthesized via one pot four component Hantzsch condensation reaction using different kinds of aldehydes , 5,5 – dimethyl – 1,3 – cyclohexadione (dimedone) , ethyl acetoacetate and ammonium acetate in the presence of disodium pyrophosphate (Na2H2P2O7 ) as a catalyst at 85 – 90 degree centigrate and water as solvent. The present work offers many advantages such as simple procedure, short reaction time and excellent yields.Identification of the prepared derivatives has been done by their FT-IR spectra, 1H-NMR spectra, CHN and measuring the melting points.
