Removal of nitrite from aqueous solution using packed bed column with granular activated carbon

Monitoring the content of nitrite plays an important role in the analysis of surface, drinking and wastewaters because it is harmful for health of human [1]. In this work the adsorption of nitrite onto granular activated carbon in packed bed column was studied. It was found that nitrite could be removed significantly from aqueous solution by adsorption onto the GAC in experimental conditions.
