Calculation of Surface Tension of Pure Organic Liquids by Using MMM EOS Coupled Scaled Particle Theory

چکیده مقاله:

Recently the correlation results were obtained by a new model from coupling Scaled Particle Theory (SPT) and the MMM equation of state. The parameters of the model were calculated and reported (SPTM3) for only four substances (n-pentane, n-heptane, n-decane and water). In this work we were expanded this model for some types of pure organic liquids such as: alkanes, alchoholes, acetones, etc. to show this model is applicable for prediction of surface tension of pure organic liquids. The parameter of the model were calculated and reported at 91.3 kpa and at different temperatures. The comparison between the surface tension results and those calculated by Mohsen-nia et al indicate that our results are more accurate. Also the comparison between surface tension results and experimental data indicates that average absolute deviation is very low means this model could be used for many types of pure organic liquids.
