Comparison of cytotoxic activities of some populations of Artemisia spicigera

Most of the natural anticancer agents stimulate cell death by using direct tumorinhibition activity. The protective effects of plants have long been attributed totheir compounds.In this study cytotoxic potential of several populations of Artemisia spicigera(Asteraceae), collected from various ecological areas in East Azerbaijan (Iran), werecompared by MTT-based cytotoxicity assay.In this study most of the samples show low cytotoxic properties. In conclusionthere were not any significant differences in cytotoxic activity of the samples
