Transformer Monitoring System Important Component of Smart Grid

Features and benefits of transformer online monitoring systems are presented in the paper, as well as some recent Smart Grid initiatives. An overview of available transformer on-line monitoring technologies is given with a special emphasis on technical (diagnostic) datawhich these systems provide and which will be very important for smart operation of grids in the future. The most recent initiatives on standardization and interoperability of monitoring systems are also presented in the paper.
