چکیده مقاله:

Climate change and resource pressures are driving geotechnical and geoenvironmental engineering to integrate sustainability and resilience into core design. This manuscript shows how geoenvironmental approaches minimize infrastructure's ecological impact while boosting adaptive capacity against extreme weather, sea-level rise, permafrost thaw, desiccation, and hydrological extremes. Modern geotechnical practice incorporates bio-mediated stabilization (MICP), geopolymers, enzyme-induced precipitation, and recycled by-products (fly ash, slag, RCA, tire aggregates, C&D waste) to sharply reduce embodied carbon from cement, aggregates, and deep foundations. Quantitative tools - carbon calculators, full LCA, and resilient-sustainability indices enable balanced evaluation across environmental, economic, and social dimensions. Applications cover contaminated site cleanup, landfill systems, ash impoundment closure, slope reinforcement, and climate-resilient foundations in vulnerable regions Geoenvironmental engineering is positioned as a key ethical-scientific domain for net-positive, circular, resilient infrastructure in the Anthropocene, offering clear pathways through advanced low-carbon methods and performance metrics.
