چکیده مقاله:

Persian Garden is one of the most prominent and continuous Iranian creativity over the centuries. This initiative is related to human living space. Its root is in the Achaemenid era and has been continuing until contemporary. From the beginning, Iranians knew the garden as an earthly expression of a spiritual fact. Reflection of paradise in the world. The garden experience was not limited to the tangible world. So in fact it was as a kind of sacred art. Its sacred aspect is somehow related to four elements: water, soil, fire, wind. Living continuity has been made in hard climate condition by Persian Garden. Therefore sustainable living condition for human continues through harmony between these 4 elements in nature. Persian Garden is an achievement that has been grasped after a hard experience of living in a special geographic and climate condition. This achievement is based on a well-developed culture and a heavenly wisdom. Now we want to answer this question: How does this wisdom contribute to the sustainability of today’s landscape's problems? To answer it, at first we investigate how four elements are harmonized in Persian Garden and how this harmony can supply living condition deficiencies. This fact can be follow by factors of recent Landscape’s management. Therefore, it’s understood, in global terms, if we can recognize natural deficiencies everywhere, we will conclude roots of this deficiencies are in imbalances between four sacred elements. Balance and interaction of them is an ancient wisdom. It has no conflict with today’s knowledge and science. Wind, water, soil, energy, etc. management are the main subject of today’s science. Their roots can be found in idea of Persian Garden.
