چکیده مقاله:

Liquid storage tanks are significant components of lifeline and industrial facilities. They are key elements in water supply scheme and firefighting system. A common effectivemethod to reduce the seismic response of liquid storage tanks is to isolate them at base using base-isolation systems. In this research, the finite element model is used. Theliquid-tank system is modeled assuming three-dimensional. The sloshing displacement, base shear in base-isolated tank and none isolated rectangular liquid storage ground tanks were investigated. The continuous liquid mass of the Tank was modeled as lumpedmasses referred as convective mass, impulsive mass and rigid mass. The nonlinear time history analyses of the model were performed in accordance with the data from the 1994Northridge (USA), earthquake. The sloshing displacement was observed to be higher thanwhich related with fixed base tanks .In contrary, the base shear response declined. The probability analyse shows there is a significant difference between base shear in twoanalysis cases with and without base isolation but there is no significant on sloshing displacement
