چکیده مقاله:
In the digital era, platform governance represents a dual-edged sword, harnessing algorithms to foster opportunities in learning, entrepreneurship, and social activism while simultaneously imposing external controls, exacerbating mental health crises, and fragmenting identity diasporas. This systematic review analyzes these tensions through the lens of Generation Z's (Gen Z) interactions with Instagram's opaque algorithms, drawing on ۷۸ peer-reviewed studies (۲۰۱۸–۲۰۲۶) from databases including Web of Science, Scopus, and PubMed, employing PRISMA guidelines for rigorous synthesis. Findings reveal that Instagram's attention-driven algorithms enhance visual learning (e.g., ۵۲% of Gen Z users report skill acquisition via Reels) and entrepreneurial ventures (۳۵% leverage influencer marketing for micro-businesses), while enabling social activism through hashtag mobilization. Conversely, these mechanisms perpetuate external governance via surveillance capitalism, with ۷۳% of Gen Z experiencing digital exhaustion and a ۳۱% rise in anxiety/depression linked to FOMO and idealized content. In identity Diasporas, algorithms amplify hybrid cultural expressions (e.g., ۶۰% of migrant youth sharing heritage posts) but foster isolation, as filter bubbles exacerbate belonging fractures among ۷۹% of diaspora Gen Z. Methodologically, the review integrates qualitative thematic analysis of algorithmic impacts with quantitative meta-trends on user outcomes, focusing on Gen Z (aged ۱۸–۲۵) across diverse contexts (e.g., U.S., India, and Iran). Results underscore the paradox: while platforms democratize access, their non-transparent governance undermines autonomy, particularly for vulnerable diaspora communities navigating transnational identities. Implications advocate for ethical platform reforms, including algorithmic transparency mandates and digital literacy programs tailored to Gen Z, to mitigate mental health risks and empower diasporic activism. This study calls for interdisciplinary governance frameworks to balance innovation with equity in digital ecosystems.
