Stimuli-Responsive Nanocarriers for Controlled and Targeted Drug Delivery: A Review

Nanocarriers have attracted considerable attention in drug delivery because of their nanoscale dimensions, ease of modification, and multifunctional physicochemical properties. Stimuli-responsive nanomaterials, which respond to endogenous or exogenous triggers, have shown particular promise for biomedical applications. Compared with conventional nanomaterials, these systems can improve therapeutic efficiency and reduce drug toxicity toward healthy tissues through specific targeting and on-demand release at pathological sites.
