Preparation of amine functionalized nanozeolitic imidazolate framework-۸ using solvent-assisted linker exchange method

In this work, ZIF-۸ was first prepared via a solvo-thermal method and subsequently modified through a solvent-assisted linker exchange (SALE) approach-a simple post-synthesis technique. Fourier transform infrared spectrophotometry (FTIR) analysis confirmed the partial substitution of ۲-MeIM ligands with ATZ. X-ray diffraction (XRD) results indicated that the addition of ATZ preserved the crystalline structure of ZIF-۸, though a slight reduction in crystallinity index (Cr.I.) and crystallite size (L) was observed relative to unmodified ZIF-۸. The specific surface area, average pore diameter, and total pore volume of the MZIF-۸ were maintained after modification. Proton nuclear magnetic resonance (H-NMR) analysis revealed that the degree of ATZ incorporation reached approximately ۶۹%.
