The Impact of Teachers’ Artificial Intelligence Awareness on Organizational Silence among Elementary School Teachers: The Mediating Role of Psychological Contract Breach

This study examined the mediating role of psychological contract breach on the relation between artificial intelligence awareness and organizational silence. To this end, the population consisted of ۳۶۵ teachers employed in public elementary schools in Ardabil, Iran. The participants were selected through cluster random sampling and completed measures of AI awareness, psychological contract breach, and organizational silence. Pearson correlation and structural equation modeling was used in this research. The results revealed that organizational silence and psychological contract breach were negatively related to AI awareness; however, psychological contract breach was positively related to organizational silence. According to the results, psychological contract breach partially mediated the relationship between AI awareness and organizational silence. Based on the results of the study, it can be argued that strengthening teachers’ AI awareness may lead to reducing teachers’ perceptions of psychological contract breach and organizational silence. These findings might encourage supportive school leadership, increasing AI awareness, and transparent school communication in educational environments.
