چکیده مقاله:
The global integration of renewable energy has been on the rise due to growing concerns about environmental degradation and climate change, primarily driven by the use of fossil fuels. Due to the unpredictable and intermittent nature of renewable energy sources, assessing the reliability of power systems incorporating renewables has posed significant challenges and has been extensively researched over the past few decades. This paper offers a thorough review of the studies regarding the reliability and economic evaluation of power systems with renewables. It starts with a summary of the primary indicators and models used for assessing the reliability and economics of power systems. Various studies are then compared based on the type of renewable energy considered, evaluation methods, application area, study level, and country involved, highlighting the key characteristics of previous research. Additionally, the paper discusses the relationship between economics and reliability, emphasizing the need to evaluate both aspects simultaneously. A case study is included to illustrate the differences between alternative system configurations concerning both reliability and economic performance. The findings suggest that the type and scale of renewable energy generation significantly impact both system reliability and economics, which should be considered during the development of renewable energy-powered systems.
