چکیده مقاله:
Overvoltages in a power system can be caused by transient currents and voltages after switching during normal operation or after fault conditions are resolved. These overvoltages arise from the state of the system. There are also overvoltages that are caused outside the system and by atmospheric electrical discharges. The approach of this article is to focus on induced voltages caused by lightning and atmospheric electrical discharges, as well as methods for dealing with them. In this article, the mechanism of lightning and the set of factors that cause lightning are first discussed, and then the methods of lightning impact on distribution networks in direct and indirect ways are discussed, and then the necessity of protecting networks against lightning effects is mentioned and the risk is assessed. In the following, several possible scenarios following lightning induced voltages that are encountered in connection with it are examined, and the subject is further examined and adapted with a simulation example, and finally the final conclusion is brought.
