The advent of vitrification, a mutation in the therapeutic landscape in assisted reproductive technology

Aim: In recent years, due to the increasing rate of infertility, preserving women's fertility has become of great importance. The advent of vitrification has transformed the therapeutic landscape in assisted reproductive technology. The present study was designed for the rol of vitrification. Materials and methods: In Scopus, PubMed, Google Scholar, Iranmedex and Magiran databases, we reviewed ۳۵ cases of research conducted between ۱۹۸۶-۲۰۲۶ with the keyword Vitrification Findings: There are a growing number of reasons for cryopreservation of oocyte. One of these is in women who decide to postpone childbearing for personal, educational, or career reasons. cryopreservation of oocyte can be a suitable treatment option for fertility preservation in women with a wide range of medical conditions other than cancer, Such as cases where the ovaries lose their ability to produce healthy eggs due to treatment for endometriosis with pelvic infection and their ovarian reserves are reduced after surgery. Although both vitrification and slow oocyte freezing are currently performed in many infertility centers, recent studies have shown that vitrification significantly improves oocyte survival and pregnancy rates after embryo transfer. Conclusion: Vitrification is currently used as the main technique for oocyte freezing in many infertility centers.
