Integrating QFD Methodology for Sustainable Future-Oriented Social Housing Projects

This study pioneers the integration of Quality Function Deployment (QFD) with Sustainable principles to address critical gaps in socially inclusive, low-carbon housing design. The integration of QFD's House of Quality (HOQ) matrix with project's strategies, the study tries to prioritize stakeholder needs while embedding closed-loop material flows, energy recovery systems, and modular adaptability-key pillars of the Ellen MacArthur Foundation's CE framework.[۱] The methodology resolves conflict between cost constraints and sustainable approaches through hybrid QFD-TOPSIS decision matrices (Gharaie et al., ۲۰۲۱).[۲] The customized methodology has been launched by the Research and Development department of Maskan Investment Group Co., as the largest real estate developer in Iran and has been developed by more than ۲۰ mega projects throughout the country. The latest one has been adapted at the largest regeneration project in Tabriz, Navia, by Shomalgharb Maskan Investment company. This project consists of large amount of creativity, sustainable and resilient solutions in design and construction phases.
