چکیده مقاله:
Purpose: This study aims to evaluate the quality of on-campus student housing for female students at Shiraz University using Post-Occupancy Evaluation (POE). Design/methodology/approach: By employing a mixed-methods approach that integrates surveys, focus group discussions, and environmental assessments, this study provides a comprehensive evaluation of residential quality from diverse perspectives, thereby offering a more nuanced and in-depth understanding. Findings: The findings indicate that, in the technical dimension, concerns were raised regarding ventilation, particularly in shared and communal areas. In the functional dimension, dissatisfaction was identified with room size, furniture quality, and storage space. In the behavioural dimension, issues of privacy and room layout contributed significantly to dissatisfaction, as the spaces failed to adequately meet the students' personal needs. Research limitations/implications: This study identifies key areas for improvement, providing a comprehensive framework to help decision-makers make informed decisions. The primary limitations of this study were time constraints, which limited data collection from a larger sample, and challenges related to the consistency of environmental measurements. Originality/value: Through the application of a systematic POE, this study contributes to the relatively underexplored domain of female student housing in Iran. The findings provide valuable insights to help authorities develop standardized procedures for collecting feedback and implementing improvements.
