چکیده مقاله:
This research explores the typology of collective open spaces in the native settlements of Kurdish regions, focusing on the villages in the Mokrian area of Iran. Using qualitative and quantitative methods, including field observation, interviews with residents, and analysis of aerial photographs, it identifies, classifies, and analyzes the physical, functional, and socio-cultural characteristics of these spaces. Types and typology are the only way to classify and better understand environmental realities and can only play a role in the interpretation and understanding of patterns. Therefore, typology does not have the capability to be applied as a pattern in the process of transforming concepts into realities and instances. The findings indicate that the collective open spaces in the villages of Mokrian show considerable diversity in shape, size, usage, and relation to the surrounding context. The identified types include central squares, passageways, spaces related to water sources, gardens, and pastures around the village, as well as religious spaces. Each of these types has unique characteristics that are closely related to the lifestyle, social structure, and cultural beliefs of the local community. This typology helps to better understand the importance of collective open spaces in preserving the identity and sustainability of indigenous settlements and in planning more precisely for the sustainable development of these areas.
