چکیده مقاله:

Adaptive re-use of industrial heritage has a significant impact on preserving historical identity and enhancing the visitor experience. This study evaluates various aspects of the adaptive re-use project of the Shiraz textile factory from the perspective of visitors. The research framework was developed by reviewing the existing literature and conducting a focus group with experts, identifying indicators categorized into eleven elements and three dimensions: "Heritage of Place," "Functional Spaces," and "Visitor Destination." The use of hybrid data collection and analysis techniques has provided a more comprehensive view of the project's strengths and weaknesses, leading to more reliable results. The findings show that the project has been successful in preserving the authenticity of the building and establishing an effective connection with visitors. However, issues such as a lack of integration with local businesses and insufficient utilization of economic potential have posed threats to the long-term sustainability of the project. In the "Functional Spaces" dimension, the organization of spaces and lighting was found to be adequate. However, challenges such as smooth movement flow, ventilation, temperature control, and a lack of interactive spaces remain. In the "Visitor Destination" dimension, environmental hygiene was found to be satisfactory. However, shortcomings such as a lack of guiding services, accessibility for people with special needs, and insufficient parking facilities were identified This research contributes to the limited studies in Iran and provides a credible example for future complementary analyses. The findings can assist policymakers in improving standards and making informed decisions for similar projects
