چکیده مقاله:
Spider movement on vertical and inverted surfaces (such as walls and ceilings) without using webs depends on van der Waals adhesion force, which is several orders of magnitude larger than gravitational force. This study, using a simple probabilistic model within the framework of soft computing, examines why gravitational force has a negligible impact on the stability of spider movement, both under Earth conditions and in microgravity (such as the International Space Station). By modeling the van der Waals force as a random variable with a normal distribution and comparing it to gravitational force in various scenarios, the probability of successful adhesion, P(Stick), was calculated. The results show that even under Earth conditions, the adhesion probability is close to ۱۰۰%, and in microgravity, this probability is practically guaranteed, confirming that gravity plays a negligible role. This analysis, implemented with lightweight computational tools, has potential applications in designing adhesion-inspired robots and bio-inspired materials for low-gravity environments. This study is the first attempt at probabilistic analysis of this phenomenon within the soft computing framework and paves the way for further research in space robotics.
