چکیده مقاله:

The paper deals with the effect of vertical base random excitation on the air foil bearing dynamic behavior. We simulate a rotor system supported by air foil bearings. We apply finite difference method to solve Reynolds equation. The discretized equations are solved by Runge-Kuta algorithm. The results are investigated by PSD and FRF diagrams. Base on the results we can conclude the rotor is highly sensitive to frequencies less that rotor speed. On the other hand, at higher frequencies, the rotor is almost not affected by the base vibration. Base on the result of this paper, it is recommended that low frequency base vibration is isolated from rotor-bearing systems.
