چکیده مقاله:

Nanotechnology has the potential to revolutionize food security and safety by enhancing the capabilities of smart packaging, nanosensors, and controlled-release systems. However, despite its proven technical advantages, the commercial and operational success of this technology is heavily dependent on “social acceptance.” This paper provides a comprehensive review of the opportunities offered by nanotechnology within the food supply chain, as well as its associated environmental and safety challenges. It further analyzes the critical role of “public awareness” and technological literacy in mitigating psychological biases toward novel food innovations. Findings indicate that the knowledge gap between experts and consumers is the primary factor driving resistance to these technologies. Finally, this study proposes strategies based on transparent communication, bidirectional engagement among stakeholders, and the development of robust regulatory frameworks. These measures are intended to alleviate public concerns while establishing the necessary foundation for the successful integration of nanotechnology into the food industry.
