چکیده مقاله:

Additive manufacturing (AM), particularly fused deposition modeling (FDM), faces challenges in achieving optimal mechanical properties for printed parts. This study focuses on the multi-objective optimization of tensile properties, namely, ultimate tensile strength (UTS) and elastic modulus (E), for acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) specimens fabricated via FDM. A systematic approach employing Response Surface Methodology (RSM) with a Box-Behnken Design (BBD) was implemented to investigate and simultaneously maximize these properties. Five key process parameters were examined: nozzle temperature (۲۲۰–۲۵۰°C), printing speed (۲۰–۵۰ mm/s), layer thickness (۰.۱–۰.۳ mm), raster angle (۰–۹۰°), and wall count (۲–۶). A total of ۴۶ experimental runs, each repeated three times, were conducted according to the BBD matrix. The results identified an optimal parameter set for concurrent maximization: a nozzle temperature of ۲۵۰°C, printing speed of ۲۰ mm/s, layer thickness of ۰.۱ mm, raster angle of ۷۴.۵۵°, and a wall count of ۲.۵۷. This combination yielded predicted maximum values of ۲.۰۰۰۶ GPa for E and ۳۱.۰۷۷۲ MPa for UTS. Experimental validation using the approximated optimal parameters (۷۵° raster angle, wall count of ۲) confirmed the model's reliability, producing measured values of ۱.۸۹۲ GPa for E and ۲۹.۹۶۵ MPa for UTS. The differences between predicted and experimental results were ۵.۴۹% for E and ۳.۷۱۱% for UTS, demonstrating the efficacy and robustness of the BBD-based RSM model in optimizing the tensile performance of FDM-printed ABS components.
