چکیده مقاله:

Sustainable interior design plays an increasingly important role in improving environmental performance, human health, and quality of life in the built environment. Despite increasing attention to sustainability in architecture, the challenges of sustainable interior design have not been systematically examined and categorized, creating a significant research gap in recent years. This study aims to identify and classify the challenges of sustainable interior design and to explain their importance in contemporary professional practice. To this end, a systematic review of the literature was conducted using the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. Peer-reviewed articles published between ۲۰۰۸ and ۲۰۲۵ were systematically searched, screened, and analyzed, and specific criteria were used to select studies. The findings show that sustainable interior design faces a diverse range of challenges, including conceptual and theoretical limitations; educational and professional barriers; design-process challenges and interdisciplinary collaboration; indoor environmental quality issues; material and resource constraints; cultural and user-centered factors; and institutional and policy challenges. These challenges are systematically categorized, and short and practical solutions are provided for each category. By providing a comprehensive framework, this study helps fill the gap in the research literature. It emphasizes the need for an integrated approach to addressing the challenges of sustainable interior design.
