چکیده مقاله:
The growing trend of urbanization and increasing population density in urban areas have brought numerous environmental, economic, and social challenges to human societies. In this context, the concept of a "Sustainable Green City" serves as a novel approach to urban planning and development, offering a fundamental solution to these issues. This approach focuses on integrating sustainability principles across all urban dimensions, including building design and construction, energy management, infrastructure development, and improving the quality of life for residents. "Building Engineering," as a key pillar of physical urban development, plays a vital role in achieving the goals of sustainable green cities. This article provides an in-depth examination of the relationship between building engineering and the concepts of sustainable green cities. The initial sections outline the theoretical framework of sustainable green cities, their key principles, and their importance in addressing climate change and resource scarcity. Subsequently, the pivotal role of building engineering in achieving these goals is discussed, focusing on aspects such as optimal energy consumption, the use of sustainable materials, construction waste management, and the design of structures resilient to natural disasters (particularly earthquakes). Furthermore, the impact of technological innovations in construction on enhancing urban sustainability, the existing challenges in developing green cities, and the economic and environmental benefits of these approaches are examined in detail. Finally, referencing credible studies and sources, the article emphasizes the necessity of integrating building engineering knowledge with urban planning approaches to build a more sustainable future for current and future generations.
