چکیده مقاله:
The cognitive linguistics approach has a significant impact on learning auxiliary verbs in English, as it focuses on understanding the conceptual meaning and mental relationships of these verbs. Based on this approach, learners can better understand the different uses of auxiliary verbs by utilizing conceptual metaphors and mental schemas. This method strengthens the ability to correctly use auxiliary verbs in various sentences and texts, as they gain a deeper understanding of their role in the language structure. The research method used in this study is a quasi-experimental pre-test-post-test control group design. The participants in this investigation consisted of two groups of intermediate English language learners selected from university students in Hashtgerd. To homogenize the participants, a quick placement test was used. Ultimately, ۶۰ intermediate English language learners remained from the initial ۲۵۰ participants in this study. The quick placement test, provided by Oxford University Press and the English Language Assessment Board for speakers of other languages, was used to homogenize participants' language proficiency at the beginning of the research. It was employed for evaluating participants' knowledge of auxiliary verbs in the pre-test and delayed post-test. The findings indicated that the cognitive linguistics approach is effective and plays a significant role in learning auxiliary verbs in English.
