چکیده مقاله:

Translation in Iran has always been dependent on socio-political conditions and intellectual tendencies in each historical period. One of the most critical periods in which socio-political events were effective in cultural developments is ۱۹۴۱-۱۹۷۹. This study examined the socio-political and cultural dimensions of translation practices in Iran from ۱۹۴۱ to ۱۹۷۹ through the lens of Pierre Bourdieu's theoretical framework, namely Sociology of Translation, specifically the concepts of habitus and cultural capital. By focusing on five prominent translators-Mohammad Ghazi, Ebrahim Younesi, Mohammad Pourhormazan, Najaf Daryabandari, and Beh Azin-the study explores how their personal experiences, social status, and political ideologies influenced their translation choices and contributions to the intellectual discourse of the time. The method is qualitative and adopts a historical sociological approach, utilizing archival research and content analysis of both primary sources, such as historical texts and manuscripts, and secondary sources, including scholarly articles and books. Key translators and their works were selected through purposive sampling, with a focus on addressing the challenges faced by Tudeh party translators. This study highlights the interplay between individual agency and broader social structures in the production of translated works, revealing how these translations not only reflected but also influenced the socio-political currents of mid-۲۰th-century Iran.
