چکیده مقاله:

This quasi-experimental study examined the effects of recasts and prompts on the acquisition of English past passive tense by Iranian EFL learners. Sixty intermediate male learners (mean age = ۲۰) were randomly assigned to three groups: recast (n=۲۰), prompt (n=۲۰), and control (n=۲۰). All groups received three hours of form-focused instruction over two weeks, but only the experimental groups received corrective feedback during communicative tasks. Oral post-test results indicated that both feedback groups significantly outperformed the control group (p<.۰۵). However, no significant difference was found between the recast and prompt groups. These findings support the overall effectiveness of corrective feedback and suggest that both implicit and explicit feedback types can facilitate L۲ grammatical development in foreign language contexts.
