چکیده مقاله:

The present study was an attempt to explore Iranian English as a foreign language (EFL) students' attitudes towards learning intercultural communicative competence (ICC) in their classes. To do so, a total of ۲۱۹ high school students from five different cities participated in the study. A ۲۰-item questionnaire on five-point Likert scale was utilized to gather the relevant data. The items principally focused on students' attitude towards learning ICC in L۲ classrooms. The findings of the study revealed that students held positive attitudes towards learning ICC. As for the impacts of the gender on students' attitudes towards learning ICC, it was found that the means for male students' attitudes towards development of their ICC in classrooms was significantly higher than the means of their female counterparts. The findings of the present study have important implications for ELT materials developers and teacher trainers.
