چکیده مقاله:
Digital technologies have significantly altered the landscape of second language acquisition (SLA), not by replacing pedagogy, but by expanding the range of possible learning designs. Artificial intelligence, adaptive platforms, mobile devices, immersive environments, gamified systems, corpus tools, and online collaboration each offer distinct affordances for input, interaction, output, noticing, feedback, and learner engagement. Yet their value depends less on novelty than on alignment with established principles of SLA and sound instructional design. This article examines major innovation trends in language education through a practical and theoretical SLA lens. It argues that effective digital language teaching is best understood as a hybrid, purposeful, and evidence-informed enterprise in which technology supports meaningful communication, personalized practice, and reflective learning. At the same time, the article critically addresses challenges related to access, privacy, bias, cognitive overload, and the risk of reducing language learning to automated performance metrics. The central claim is that innovation in SLA is most educationally productive when digital tools are used to amplify human teaching rather than to substitute for it.
