The impact of gamification on English grammar learning among B.A university student

The rapid advancement of technology and the increasing globalization of societies have made English language learning and teaching a critical priority in higher education. Among different instructional approaches, gamification has recently gained attention as a means to enhance learner engagement and improve grammar competence. The present study aimed to explore the impact of gamification on grammar learning among undergraduate English language students. Using a qualitative review design, this research synthesized narratives from peer-reviewed literature sourced from major databases, including Google Scholar, ScienceDirect, PubMed, Wiley, and ISC. From ۱۷۶ initially identified publications, ۴۰ studies were selected for final inclusion after evaluation for relevance, credibility, and methodological strength. The findings revealed that the integration of gamification strategies in English language instruction fosters active classroom participation, promotes motivation, and contributes to improved mastery of grammar rules. The results also indicated that gamification creates a dynamic learning environment compared to conventional teaching practices. It is concluded that gamification holds potential as an effective pedagogical tool for enhancing English grammar learning at the university level. Future research should conduct empirical and longitudinal investigations to assess its long-term effectiveness and cultural adaptability.
