چکیده مقاله:
Ultra-High-Performance Concrete (UHPC) is an advanced type of concrete that was first developed in France in the ۱۹۹۰s. It is recognized for its outstanding characteristics, including adequate workability in the fresh state, very high compressive strength, improved ductility, and remarkable durability against environmental factors. Owing to its superior mechanical properties and favorable long-term performance, UHPC has increasingly attracted attention in the construction industry at both local and international levels. Its most significant applications include high-rise structures, precast and prestressed bridge girders with long spans, marine structures, airport infrastructure, and certain defense-related applications. This study reviews recent research findings concerning UHPC mix design, the properties of fresh and hardened UHPC, and its current applications in the construction industry, particularly in bridge structures. Despite the considerable advantages of UHPC, several challenges and limitations continue to hinder its rapid adoption. Among the main barriers are the lack of comprehensive codes and design guidelines for predicting the behavior and performance of UHPC, the need for specialized procedures in mixing, placement, and curing, and its relatively higher initial cost. By providing a comprehensive review of the characteristics, advantages, and challenges associated with UHPC, this paper aims to assist engineers, researchers, and other stakeholders in the construction industry in achieving a clearer understanding of the capabilities and limitations of this innovative material. A deeper understanding and further development of the technical knowledge related to UHPC may facilitate broader adoption and increase its share in the global construction market.
