چکیده مقاله:
Aims: Post-traumatic stress disorder is a psychological condition that can affect individuals during large-scale crises, such as the coronavirus pandemic. This study aimed to investigate the effect of COVID-۱۹-related post-traumatic stress disorder on the quality of nurses’ work life. Instrument & Methods: This cross-sectional descriptive-analytical study was conducted between September ۲۰۲۲ and March ۲۰۲۳ among nurses working in hospitals affiliated with Qazvin University of Medical Sciences, located in northwest Iran. Through convenience sampling, ۲۶۱ nurses were enrolled. Data were collected using the demographic and professional characteristics form, the Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Symptoms Scale, and the Quality of Nurses’ Work Life (QNWL) questionnaire. Data analysis was performed using SPSS ۲۰, applying descriptive statistics and inferential tests, including the Mann-Whitney U test, Kruskal-Wallis test, analysis of variance, and Spearman’s correlation coefficient. A significance level of p<۰.۰۵ was considered. Findings: The mean age of the participants was ۳۵.۱۹±۷.۷۵ years. The mean post-traumatic stress disorder score was ۴۵.۹۶±۲۰.۲۱, and the mean quality of nurses’ work life score was ۱۲۸.۱۷±۲۷.۷۳. Significant relationships were observed between employment status and work shift with the quality of nurses’ work life (p<۰.۰۵). Additionally, gender and marital status were significantly associated with post-traumatic stress disorder scores (p<۰.۰۵). Conclusion: Both post-traumatic stress disorder symptoms and the quality of nurses’ work life are at moderate levels among the nurses.
