چکیده مقاله:

Background and Aim: Major depression disorder is a recurrent disease with many social, economic, physical and psychological consequences. The disease has a significant effect on the quality of life with long-term suffering, occupational disorder, education, interpersonal, family relationships and even suicide. Women are about ۱.۵ to ۳ times more likely to be depressed than men, the difference starting in early adolescence. Rumination is defined as cyclical and persistent depressive thinking, and is a relatively common response to negative mood and cognitive hallmarks of asthma and major depression disorder. In addition, rumination is a repetitive negative thinking and has been linked to major depression disorder in various studies. Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) is derived from extensive research in identifying the cognitive factors and processes predicting recurrence of depression developed by Segal, Williams, and Tisdale (۲۰۰۲). The underlying logic of MBCT is that if patients view their thoughts and feelings as mental events and experience the present moment, judgment-based thinking will diminish. Methods: In this research, a single case experimental design of multiple baseline design was used. Participant samples were three people with Major Depression Disorder that were selected through purposeful sampling method through a diagnostic interview. Participants entered the treatment process after receiving condition of treatment. The effectiveness of the Mindfulness Cognitive Therapy Program during the three stages of intervention (baseline, ۸-session treatment and ۱-month follow up) was assessed using Beck Depression Inventory and the rumination response scale. Data were analyzed by visual drawing, improvement percentage formula and effect size Results The aim of this research was determinating effectiveness of Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy on reducing rumination and signs and Major Depression symptoms Conclusion: The results showed that the effect of Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy on decreasing rumination and depression symptoms was statistically and clinically significant. Mindfulness based cognitive therapy is effective in reducing rumination and depression symptoms.
