چکیده مقاله:

aphasia as one of the acquired disorder caused by damage to central nervous system, can cause wide-ranging problems in the perceptual and expressive domains of oral and written language. given the overlap of areas related to linguistic functions and cognitive processes in the brain people with aphasia are also affected to varying degrees in cognitive domains.one of the most important cognitive components in these individuals, is executive functions. given the importance of the role of executive functions in reasoning,problem solving,effective communication, and the need for attention paid to the evaluation and treatment of these cognitive components. this article is a review of research published between ۲۰۰۰-۲۰۱۷ on pubmed,elsevior, and google scholar databases as well as search on library resources the initial search was conducted with keywords of cognitive disorder, aphasia,executive function,.... the current study is purpose to evaluate the executive functions in people with aphasia and it's effect on other language skills of these individuals. the results of various studies have shown that ۴۰ percent of people with aphasia who had unsuccessful treatments,have a deficit in executive functions.there was a direct and significant relationship between the executive function deficits and weakness in pragmatic skills such as maintaining and changing the subject of conversation.the results of some studies indicate the effect of executive function deficits on words retrieval,keeping the retrieved words and their correct generalization. the results showed that people who had aphasia due to damage in the left hemisphere,had more deficits in executive functions than those who had damage in other brain regions. cognitive components, especially executive function have a special role in linguistic and communication. the results of studies in people with aphasia indicate the necessity of early intervention and assessment in their executive functions. providing timely treatments to improve the executive functions of people with aphasia, can be effective in improving their communication and language skills.
