چکیده مقاله:

Neonatal jaundice, caused by elevated serum bilirubin levels, remains one of the most common conditions requiring intervention in newborns. Phototherapy has been the gold standard of treatment; with conventional devices such as fluorescent and halogen lamps being progressively replaced by light-emitting diode (LED)-based systems. However, in low-resource settings, the availability of effective and affordable phototherapy equipment remains limited. Recent innovations have focused on developing low-cost, smart, and remotely monitored phototherapy units to enhance treatment effectiveness and safety. This review synthesizes recent advancements, including the role of irradiance monitoring, automation, and remote control, to provide insights into the design of low-cost smart phototherapy devices.
