Within construction engineering, structural bolts play a vital role, particularly in creating solid connections between steel components, which are critical for the overall stability and endurance of extensive infrastructures, including bridges and tall buildings. The design parameters of these bolts are meticulously crafted to withstand substantial loads while simultaneously ensuring the structural integrity of the assemblies under a myriad of environmental and operational conditions. In this discourse, we will present a comprehensive overview regarding the diverse types, specific technical specifications, and varied applications associated with American structural bolts that are integral to modern construction practices. The American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) standards A۳۲۵ and A۴۹۰ hold significant importance within the construction sector, particularly concerning high-strength structural bolts that are essential for effective steel connections. These standards delineate the precise mechanical properties, permissible material types, and requisite performance criteria that are crucial for safeguarding the integrity and safety of structural assemblies throughout their intended lifespan.
