چکیده مقاله:

Numerous bacteria of the genus Clostridium are well recognized in veterinary medicine due to their ability to cause disease through the production of potent exotoxins. Among the diseases caused by these bacteria, malignant edema is a highly fatal histotoxic condition that affects multiple animal species worldwide. Malignant edema is most commonly observed in sheep and cattle; however, it has also been reported in other domestic mammals. malignant edema is most frequently observed in sheep and cattle but has also been reported in other domestic mammals. No specific age predisposition has been documented in any animal species except for cases of omphalophlebitis, which occur in neonatal animals. Given the undeniable importance of malignant edema in mammals, information regarding this disease remains scattered and is mostly limited to case reports. In this study, a case of malignant edema in a slaughtered calf is reported, and the most significant aspects of this disease in mammals are reviewed and discussed.
