In the present work, the rate of heat transfer at the outside surface of a cone was calculated numerically to find out the bulk temperature under two boundary conditions: constant temperature. One cone was taken and studied for four cases, with the working fluid being air and the cone material being aluminum. The flow was assumed to be turbulent, and the analysis employed the two-equation k-e realizable Enhanced Wall Treatment (EWT) model. The flow rate was constant for all cases. These conditions comprised flows from the larger diameter to the smaller diameter and vice versa, under constant temperature and constant heat flux. The graph of bulk temperature is expected to show an exponential trend under constant temperature conditions. The work offers valuable information on the thermal behavior of converging and diverging nozzles under various boundary conditions, thus helping in optimizing their design and operating efficiency.
