Comparative Evaluation of Multiplex PCR and Other Molecular Methods for the Simultaneous Detection of Vibrio cholerae and Vibrio parahaemolyticus

Vibrio cholerae and Vibrio parahaemolyticus are among the most important causative agents of water- and foodborne diseases. This review examines the molecular diagnostic methods used for the detection of these pathogens, with a particular focus on the Multiplex PCR technique. By enabling the simultaneous identification of multiple specific genes, Multiplex PCR offers higher speed and accuracy compared to conventional methods such as Real-time PCR and LAMP. Therefore, it can be considered an effective approach for the rapid and reliable detection of Vibrio species.
