Investigating the position of the Conocarpus plant in landscape of areas under environmental stress (Case study: Khuzestan steel company)

The presence of various pollutants, especially in industrial cities, has made the use of pollution-resistant vegetation necessary to improve the environmental situation in the surrounding area. Meanwhile, conocarpus is considered a very resistant plant as an environmental capital to reduce pollutants. However, this plant today has faced with some questions and doubts, such as the lack of nesting by birds, the lack of use by insects and other creatures from the gum and different parts of this plant, and also identifying it as the cause of the spread of respiratory diseases and autumn allergies in Ahvaz. The purpose of presenting this article is to resolve the ambiguities related to the cultivation of Conocarpus plant in landscape of populated areas. The results of scientific research indicate that this plant is a very good absorber for heavy metals at first and in areas like Khuzestan that are affected by salty soil, heavy soil, severe heat stress, drought stress and pollution Stress has a much higher resistance in compare with many plant species in the region. Planting this plant on a large scale with the cooperation of those involved in use of urban and industrial landscape will bring important benefits from an environmental point of view, especially in areas affected by pollutants.
