چکیده مقاله:
Background: The smart airbag technology significantly enhances car safety by reducing injuries from accidents, and when integrated with pre-hospital emergency systems, it improves the response time and quality of emergency services. This integration allows for automatic transmission of detailed accident information, such as crash severity, number of occupants, and geographic location, thereby minimizing rescue time and enhancing the quality of care for the injured. Materials and Methods: This study was conducted as a descriptive review. PubMed, Web of Sciences and Scopus databases were searched in ۲۰۱۸-۲۰۲۴ to find full-text English language articles. In this research, ۶ articles were reviewed based on the criteria of entry and exit and suitability of the content with the purpose of the research. Results: The study examines the application of connected smart airbags in emergency situations, emphasizing their ability to improve response times, decrease fatalities, and enhance rescue operations through IoT and real-time communication. These airbags can relay essential accident information, such as location and injury severity, to emergency services, enabling better preparedness prior to their arrival. However, while the advantages include quicker response and improved decision-making, challenges such as high costs, the requirement for advanced communication infrastructure, data security concerns, and adherence to privacy regulations could impede implementation, especially in regions with poor communication networks. Conclusion: Smart airbags linked to emergency systems enhance road safety by automatically relaying accident information to emergency centers, which facilitates faster response times. To optimize these technologies, improved communication infrastructure and cooperation among car manufacturers, emergency services, and regulatory agencies are essential, particularly in resource-constrained areas. Additionally, further research into standardization, data security, and network coverage in remote locations is crucial for broader adoption and the overall improvement of global road safety.
