چکیده مقاله:
Organizational silence is a phenomenon in which employees deliberately refrain from expressing ideas, opinions, and information about organizational issues and problems, causing employees to not participate with their managers and colleagues in expressing ideas and finding solutions to solve organizational problems and to pass by the problems indifferently. Citizenship behavior represents voluntary and optional work-related activities and is indirectly and implicitly organized through formal job descriptions and reward systems, and ultimately improves the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization's tasks. The purpose of the present study is to investigate the effect of organizational silence on the citizenship behavior of employees of Ardabil University of Medical Sciences. In terms of purpose, the present study is of an applied, descriptive, and correlational type, and in terms of data collection method, the research method is field. The statistical population of the present study consists of all employees of Ardabil University of Medical Sciences. Morgan table was used to determine the sample size, and the number of samples was ۱۳۲ people. The sampling method is also stratified random (separated by subordinate units). To measure the variables, the Oregon and Kanosky Citizenship Behavior Questionnaire (۱۹۹۶, quoted from Poursoltani et al., ۲۰۱۳) and the Standard Organizational Silence Questionnaire by Dineh et al. (۲۰۰۳) were used. In the citizenship behavior questionnaire, the Cronbach's alpha coefficient was ۰.۸۲, conscience ۰.۷۷, chivalry ۰.۷۶, civic behavior ۰.۸۰, and courtesy and consideration ۰.۷۳, and in the organizational silence questionnaire, it was divided into ۰.۸۹ and ۰.۹۱, respectively, based on the items of submissive silence. After collecting and entering the information, the data were analyzed with LISREL and SPSS software, and structural equations and regression analysis were used to analyze the hypotheses. The research findings showed that organizational silence has a significant effect on the citizenship behavior of employees.
