Assessment of Urban Drinking Water Quality and Its Impact on Public Health Indicators: A Cross-Sectional Study

Drinking water quality is one of the most critical determinants of public health, and fluctuations in its contamination levels can significantly influence community health outcomes. This study aimed to evaluate the quality of urban drinking water and determine the relationship between physicochemical and microbial parameters with public health indicators. A cross-sectional survey was conducted, and water samples were collected from ۲۰ different points across the urban distribution network. Results indicated that although most parameters were within acceptable limits, turbidity and residual chlorine levels were suboptimal at several sampling points. Health data analysis showed a higher incidence of gastrointestinal illnesses in areas with poorer water quality. The findings highlight the importance of continuous monitoring and improvements in treatment processes.
