This paper explores the advancements in energy management and security systems within IoT-enabled smart buildings and their transformative impact on urban infrastructure. The integration of Internet of Things (IoT) technologies has revolutionized how buildings operate, offering innovative solutions for optimizing energy consumption, enhancing operational efficiency, and improving the safety of inhabitants. Through real-time data monitoring and automation, IoT devices facilitate dynamic energy management, reducing waste, lowering costs, and enabling predictive maintenance to prolong the lifespan of building systems. In parallel, IoT-driven security systems provide advanced features such as remote surveillance, smart access control, and real-time threat detection, ensuring a higher level of protection for occupants and assets. This paper also examines key case studies in smart urban development and discusses the challenges and future potential of IoT in the sustainable growth of cities.
